That I suspect is roughly the same place as the one referred to in my ancestors gravestone in the early 1800s?

On the history section of that page it seems like this location goes back as Gerterode back to the 1200s.

Interestingly in it's history it mentions a "Fritz Rudloff"

"1866: Wars against Austria: Fritz Rudloff not returns (he die in Brno from cholera)"

I have two ancestors, a father and son both Fritz Rudloff (the elder is the one with the gravestone) so obviously this can't be them, but I'd guess a relation and a common naming pattern maybe?

Really just looking for any information anyone might have on Gerterode, if the place that would be referred to in 1808 in that gravestone would be the same modern day place, any history, etc. It seems like quite a small place.

Das heißt etweder, daß die Familie evangelisch war, oder daß der Ort nicht stimmt.
